The objective of the regeneration strategy was to:

  • Create jobs
  • Attract private investment
  • Bring new facilities to the communities

The East Cowes Project was a visionary plan to regenerate the town centre of East Cowes, by improving employment and creating a superb new waterfront for residents and visitors.

In response to the brief Levett Surveying was able to provide comprehensive and detailed survey drawings of 172,000 sq ft of existing marina buildings. These buildings included the famous Columbine (seen in the image with the Union Jack hangar) and Barracks (Queen Victoria's army barracks in World War II) buildings.

The survey was carried out to provide clear overall internal dimensions for planning and layout purposes and especially accurate net internal floor area's. By doing this the mapping of the buildings would be brought up to date giving SEEDA a new set of electronic drawings.
